Ford Fusion: Climate Control System - General Information / Evaporator. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the heater core.
   Refer to: Heater Core (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the climate control housing seal.
   

1. Remove the bolts and the thermostatic expansion valve. Discard the gasket seals.
   Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

1. Disconnect the blower motor and the blower motor speed control.

1. Remove the blower motor speed control.
   

1. Remove the blower motor.
   

1. Remove the retainer and release the climate control housing retaining clips.
   

1. Remove the retainer and release the climate control housing retaining clips.
   

1. Detach the evaporator temperature sensor and remove the evaporator.
   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
