Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. If installing a new SCCM, connect the diagnostic scan tool and upload the module configuration information from the SCCM.
  1. Remove the steering wheel.
    Refer to: Steering Wheel (211-04 Steering Column, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the steering column shrouds.
    Refer to: Steering Column Shrouds (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the SCCM electrical connectors, detach the retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the screws.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
    1. NOTE: Locking tab located on the bottom of the SCCM.

      Release the locking tab and remove the SCCM.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. If a new SCCM was installed, download the module configuration information from the diagnostic scan tool.
