The starting system controls the cranking of the engine. The starter motor is enabled by the starter relay when the relay is activated by the PCM. The PCM receives inputs from the ignition switch - push button start, automatic transmission, Run/start relay and the BCM before activating the starter relay to initiate cranking of the engine.

Starting System - with Auto-Start-Stop
The Auto-Start-Stop system helps reduce fuel consumption by automatically shutting off and restarting your vehicle’s engine while the vehicle is stopped. The Auto-Start-Stop system automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The engine restarts automatically when you release the brake pedal. WARNING: Do not adjust the steering wheel when your vehicle is moving.
Note: Make sure that you are sitting in the correct position.
Unlock the steering column. Adjust the steering wheel to the desired position.
