Ford Fusion: Rear Suspension / Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - FWD. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTICE:
Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the
performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners
may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if
replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser
quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
All vehicles

Remove the brake disc.
Refer to: Brake Disc (206-04 Rear Disc Brake, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles with knuckle mounted wheel speed sensor
-
Remove and discard the wheel bearing and wheel hub retainers and remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub.
Vehicles with bearing mounted wheel speed sensor

Remove the wheel speed sensor screw and position the wheel speed sensor aside.

Remove and discard the wheel bearing and wheel hub retainers and remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub.
Installation
Vehicles with bearing mounted wheel speed sensor
-
Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub and install the new wheel bearing and wheel hub retainers.
Torque:
98 lb.ft (133 Nm)

Position the wheel speed sensor and install the wheel speed sensor screw.
Torque:
48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)
Vehicles with knuckle mounted wheel speed sensor
-
Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub and install the new wheel bearing and wheel hub retainers.
Torque:
98 lb.ft (133 Nm)
All vehicles
-
Install the brake disc.

Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or
damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a
painted or plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.

a metal-to-metal, continuous grinding or
continuous squeal sound is present, the
brake linings may be worn-out and an
authorized dealer should check them. If the
vehicle has continuous vibration or shudder
