Ford Fusion: Climate Control System - General Information / Ambient Air Temperature Sensor. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the underbody shield.

Vehicles without 2.7L Ecoboost

  1. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor.

Vehicles with 2.7L EcoBoost

  1. Remove the front bumper cover.
    Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the ambient air temperature sensor.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • If replacing the ambient air temperature sensor a reset must be performed. Select the A/C and Recirc buttons simultaneously, then release both, within 2 seconds select A/C button again.
